SHIELD Task Force began in 2017 as a reporting initiative that brought together the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the Marion County Child Advocacy Center, the Fairmont Police Department, and various educational and nonprofit entities.
Since then, our list of partners and projects has grown considerably. In 2019, we plan to incorporate as a nonprofit and bring our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to other counties in West Virginia.
