How you can help.

You can partner with SHIELD Task Force in several ways, either as an individual or as an organization:

Have any questions or ideas? We’d love to hear from you!

  • By volunteering your time and services.

  • By supporting our mission through a financial gift.

  • By organizing a SHIELD event in your community.

  • By helping us raise awareness.

Volunteer

When we say you can help, we mean it. We need volunteers like YOU to join the fight against child abuse.

Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, a licensed professional, a prayer warrior, or a college student — everyone has a role to play. Our goal is to help you find yours. Fill out our volunteer survey, and we’ll match you with opportunities that fit your unique interests and abilities.

Donate

The most valuable resource SHIELD will ever have are the people and organizations we partner with. When passionate individuals volunteer their time and services, we show abuse survivors that they matter. However, like all organizations, SHIELD can also benefit from financial gifts. The bigger our budget, the greater impact we can have.

Money alone won’t end the abuse epidemic in our state — but it can help. Even small donations can make a difference.

Organize

One of the most impactful ways to get involved with SHIELD is to organize an event that will help raise awareness in your community. SHIELD can present age-appropriate content on sexual abuse prevention at school assemblies. We offer trainings for churches and other organizations, and we are happy to speak at other events.

If you would like to bring SHIELD to your organization or community, fill out our event/training form.

Make a difference.

Even if you’re unable to donate or volunteer right now, there are still ways you can help! Follow us on Facebook to keep up with everything SHIELD is doing. In addition to important updates, we’ll post articles, tips, FAQs, and other informative content. By liking and sharing our posts, you can help us reach more people.

Also, be sure to browse the resources available on our website. The more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to recognize and respond to abuse, support survivors, and protect the children in your life. And don’t be afraid to start conversations and share content with friends and family. Raising awareness about abuse issues — including grooming tactics, reporting requirements, and safety tips — is one of the easiest and most effective ways combat abuse.
